Lynn Falconer, a Vancouver born artist, has lived, worked and studied
in Europe, Mexico and across Canada. She has made a career as a
photographer, a graphic artist and a sculptor. Today, Lynn sculpts,
writes and photographs scenes of her city. She is a member of the
Sculptors' Society of BC.
`I have been sculpting since I was young, and now cast my sculptures
in bronze. I create, sometimes with a model, and other times
completely from my imagination. The figures, mostly female, are
imperfect. Honest. I like to think that the unselfconscious poses
suggest confidence and inner power. Female beauty. There's a feeling
that this is what a woman would look like if she knew she wasn't being
watched. How a woman might show up and be if there were no men
watching. Each is an expression of a part of myself. But it's only
upon looking back months or years later that I become aware of which
part that is. Sculpting for me is the most peaceful meditation and the
most direct access that I know to a greater understanding of the
spirit.` Lynn Falconer.
